Ah, Fall is back, one of the most inspiring season (if the weather is nice…). Time to get out the cashmere, drink hot chocolate, start carving pumpkins and get cosy again !
Here are 3 easy tips to get your home into the autumn mood:
ADD SEASONAL COLORS AND ITEMS TO YOUR HOME
Think reds, dark pinks and oranges mixed with gold or copper (copper and blush are one of the best combos EVER!). Throw in some pumpkins (easy to find at your farmer’s market), get different sizes and incorporate on shelves, kitchen counter or even coffee table. A tall lantern is always a great and affordable way to create a cosy and intimate atmosphere in the evening.
EMBRACE ALL THE SMELLS
Cinnamon, wood, leaves, anything that reminds you of fall. My go-to candle this season is Diptyque’s Feu de Bois. Another great (and cheaper) option is La Cour Jardin from &Other Stories, spicy cardamom, white frangipani and gardenia make for an uplifting and unexpected scent.
TEXTILES & RUGS
Get a fluffy rug and invest in a cashmere throw. Fabrics like flannel and wool keep you warm and cosy. Try to mix and match patterns and textures for a cool and sophisticated look.
A great way to create style easily is to layer rugs. Get a large sisal rug (IKEA has a nice and cheap selection) and layer a smaller rug on top. Adding different layers creates visual interest and your feet will thank you for not having to touch a cold floor…
