5 Different Earring Styles That Are All Super Cute

Did you know that women in the U.S. didn’t start piercing their ears until the 1950s? Up until then, earrings were simply not considered that fashionable, and many women opted for the clip-on variety (ouch!)

Luckily, earrings have taken off since then and it’s safe to say many of us probably have more pairs in our jewelry box than we know what to do with. So what’s a few more while we’re at it? If you’re looking to add to your collection, here are five different earring styles we love that are super cute and can complete your look.

1. The Classic Hoop

What’s the big hoopla over classic hoop earrings? For a start, they come in a variety of materials and colors and their size can range from barely imperceptible to those that scream “here I am!” when you enter a party.

Everyone should have at least a few pairs of hoops at their arsenal, whether they need them for the office or to wear on a date. Experiment with tortoiseshell, lucite, dangly thin gold, or that old faithful, sterling silver earrings. Bonus: they’re particularly flattering when worn with a hat.

2. The Stud

Who wouldn’t want a pair of diamond stud earrings? They’re one jewelry piece that goes with everything. But even if diamonds are out of your budget, you can still get flashy by swapping them out for cubic zirconia or a semi-precious gem.

Unlike hoops, you don’t have to worry about studs getting tangled up in your hair or caught in anything. This is also one earring that will never go out of style.

3. Dangling Earrings

While hoops and studs stay in place, dangle earrings bring a lot of playfulness to an outfit as they move about when you do. There are no set rules for what they should look like; if they swing, they’re considered dangle earrings.

Try a pair of long, thin threaders or drop earrings in the shape of animals or a whimsical charm that has meaning to you. You can really have a lot of fun with this style, so experiment to find your go-to pair.

4. Textured Earrings

By textured, we mean earrings that are a little out of the ordinary. They may be made of leather tassels, feathers, or even origami paper. But everyone needs something a little different that can spruce up an ensemble and textured earrings are definitely up to the job.

5. Glam Earrings

Every woman needs a pair of glamorous earrings that she can wear to a wedding, holiday party, or another special occasion to really complete her evening wear. And they don’t have to be made of real gemstones or expensive to bring the bling. Anything that catches the light, such as crystals, will do.

They also don’t have to be specifically for the nighttime. Why not bring a little glam to the daytime by dressing up a white t-shirt and jeans with this style of earring?
